Why Singaporean are proud to say..Sir Stamford Raffles was the founder of Singapore?

A dirty political figure, a drunkard, womanizer, drugs traders, loan shark, corruptions and bla bla blue... this kind of person we are proud to call him the founder of Singapore? No room for him in my heart. A very bad example of the British so called great scientists and public leader.

My great THANKS to Discovery Channel for revealing who was this man. Without Discovery Channel (shown on TV) Till today I will believed Raffles was a great man.

From Temasek to Singapura and now Singapore. I prefer Sang Nila Utama to be the founder of Temasek and MM Lee (Harry) to be the founder of New Singapore.
 
What do you think of Raffles behaviors / Characters that we can be proud of to say he was our founder?

Do we want the world to know Stamford Raffles, the drug trafficker with his very bad characters as our founder, so our children and grand children can be proud off?
We don't need an intelligent idiot to be our founder. Raffles took Singapore with his dirty political games and he was not here to develop Singapore, he was here to stop the Dutch from monopolizing the trade which without Raffles also Singapore was well known as a trading port. Why we gave him the credit? We were lucky that the Japanese came in, without the world war 2, we'll be the British slave till today.

Lets compare Raffles and MM Lee. It is very obvious that MM Lee never has the intention of making Singapore as part of China but Raffles 100% wanted Singapore to be under the British control.

After the full independent of Singapore in 1965. Who really found and build up Singapore? The British? or MM Lee with the PAP?

We cannot cheat History. Who founded America. Columbus or the Red Indian, who founded Australia?

Who founded and build the new Singapore. British or MM Lee?

I suggest that the Statue of Raffles to be replaced with the Statue of MM Lee in future.
