Please be advised that our investigation revealed that
Wall's ice cream
that is sold in Singapore is imported by
M/s Unilever Singapore Pte Ltd,
111 Somerset Road #16 -05,
Singapore 238164.
Wall's ice ream series of brand is not
manufactured in Singapore but imported from several of their
manufacturing plants in Thailand , Malaysia , Indonesia , China.
In the course of our investigation, we detected that Wall's ice cream
imported from Thailand , Malaysia and Indonesia
are halal certified by;
The Central Islamic
Committee of Thailand , Jabatan Kemajuan Islam
Malaysia and Majlies Ulama Indonesia and the respective halal
mark on the product
wrapper.
However, Wall's ice
cream imported from European countries such
as Wall's Arctic Roll, Wall's Calippo Orange, Wall's Chunky Chocolate
and
Wall's Viennetta are not halal certified and no halal mark is emblem on
the packaging.
Halal certification is optional and not compulsory but it is mandatory
for Muslim to consume halal food.
I would like to advice all Muslim consumer
to be a responsible consumer by checking on food wrapper for halal mark
before purchasing the product.
Wall's ice cream brands with halal mark emblem
halal certified from the country of origin and those without mark are
not
individual responsibility, hence one has to decide for himself whether
to consume
food without halal mark on the label..
